Girls girls girls

Last night was a super fun girls night- Thanks for the fun ladies! All of you out here- a bunch of us go to Applebee's once a month for 1/2 price appetizers after 9 deal. Your kids are in bed- and I have walked out of there usually spending $4! You should gather your girls and do it too!!!!
Monday Mare and I took the little girls into this bakery that Jonathan and Rebbekah introduced me too. We also Picked up LauraDawn too! It is WONDERFUL- with the most beautiful desserts in the world. I dream of the day when we can open our own little cafe! DREAM. Someday Mare- we will open one together in Athens Georgia. After the guys retire? In 10 years? Someday!Last but not least- my brave little Kira came in today and said " Mom, I want to go to school. I still look bad, but the kids in my class can DEAL with it!" That's my confident girl!Looking better huh!

She is a nut!

Another picture- I think someday she will be looking though the journal books, and think the progress of her injury interesting. I wonder what she will think of the goofy fist thing? Kira totally makes me laugh.
Yesterday we met my Mom in town! It was fun! then we went over to Dave's office for lunch. Kira really enjoyed it, and loves being spoiled. Everywhere we went people felt bad for her and gave her candy. So funny.

A little better

I am not sure what the fists are for- but I think it has to do with her not wanting pictures of her "being ugly." She os feeling a little better.

Mother's Day Weekend 2009

This was a long weekend, with highs and lows! Things started out Friday afternoon with an invitation to a delightful Mother-Daughter tea party. Its was a BALL! We made fun paper hats, had divine little Petite Fours, Flower Shaped Sandwiches, English Tea Scones, Strawberry Lemonade, and things with hummus and Nutella. We laughed with dear friends, played games, and had a fabulous time! My girls were so sweet to come indulge their old Mommy in a day with the girls! While I was out laughing and having a ball, Dave was up to his super secret project. The whole project came to a standstill at about 90%- because one, it was midnight, and two, I had come home! I am sure David will finish the rest this weekend. He painted my kitchen ceiling, made me a kitchen chandelier, and hung a new potrack. I am so excited! I love them! I will take some pictures when the project is finished. Oh how I love that man! I am so blessed to be the Mother of his gorgeous, perfect, adorable children! ( Some of those traits they may or may not have gotten from me...mostly not.)
Seeing as I celebrated with my girls, then my boys, It was time to see my Mommy and my other Mom! We had a great time! Michelle made my mom a new dish, and gave her the recipie for Mother's day. It was DELISH- Olive Cheese Bread. Yep- I will be making that real soon. I am SO glad I was able to spend a bit of time with 2 of my sisters, and my AWESOME mom. I love her to pieces. She loved her funny funny chicken I bought her. My Mommy is super fun to buy for- she likes everything!Then- things started to go to pot. Dave started to feel realy tired, and from our experiance, that only means one thing. He is sick! (He is fine- what ever bug he may or may not have had, was slept off.) So we ended up not being where we thought we would be. While at my Mom's we all made a big old mess. Dave was out cleaning it up, with Kira's help, while I was in the house playing Medic to a cut on Jordan's finger. (He probably should have has stitches, but- um.. yah.) Kira while helping Daddy move the hose, steps back, and falls into the window well- clipping her nose on the way down. We rushed her to the ER. She most likely has a broken nose- but loking at it- I say those Doctors are up in the night! Its broken- No doubt. Poor thing. she looks so sad. She actually is doing FANTASTIC_ but she is MORTIFIED of her looks- and MEH- she is like the smartest kid ever- on a 4th grade math and reading level- I am not making her go to school for a bit! Sorry.
We were able to see my other Mom, and family after the ER. We had run out of the house so fast, I didn't even bring my camera. Bummer. I love her so much too. If you even know how much we did not get along, you could appreciate how I do, how much I love her. Thanks Mom. Enjoy your trail mix!
I ALSO put a sweet little baby boy to sleep. Yes. You can be jealous. Mother's day seemed even a bit sweeter holding little Desmond. I just love me a good looking baby.

This morning Kira looks a little worse...but her spirits are up.

Star Trek, and Jordan Landing Carmike FTL!

Last night Dave surprised me with Star Trek tickets! I was terribly excited to see this movie anyway- but to go last night! Weeeee! It was everything they said it would be, and more! I would not DREAM of spoiling the movie for you though! Let's just say it was GREAT! I loved the dialog, the action, the special effects, and the beautiful actors! Dave was excited to see one of his favorites at Scotty. He loves Simon Pegg. Its a GOOD thing the movie was so good! My evening was nearly ruined by the fiasco before the show! I am so angry by the incident, that I just finished an e-mail to the Carmike corporate office. IT is as follows:

WE entered the 8:15 Start Trek Showing at 8 pm last night. They were showing the closer looks, and turn off your cell phone bits on the screen. After we were seated we realize that the sound did not coincide with what was on the screen. It was best described at "podcast" sounding. As we sat the topic became more and more offensive. Some man who seemed to think he was a comedian was talking- with an "audience." He was homosexual, which made him feel entitled to bash the Roman catholic church. I am not even catholic but felt it extremely inappropriate as there may have been some of that faith in the theater. People around me started vocalizing the desire to have this "dialog" turned off, I stood to find a manager, as I exited the topic turned to self gratification. When I found a manager, he was not polite or concerned with my concerns, as it was a "special event." I then became more assertive and said I wanted it turned off. He shrugged and told me he "would look into it." There was NOTHING posted about this inappropriate "event" or even a vocalization by the ticket taker. I did not sign up to listen to this trash, and as I paid my $8 per ticket, I would have remained outside of the theater until the "special event" that invaded my lovely evening was over. When the manager blew me off, I decided I could not sit idly by,and say nothing. If I had brought my 13 year old! I am grateful I had not! I am very disappointed that this theater did not take my complaint seriously, did not notify us as the audience there was some "special event" with offensive content would be playing while we waited for our very much anticipated night! Very unprofessional, and obviously the customer is not the highest priority at this theater.
Seriously, I was trying to be NICE in this letter- it was HORRID! The 20 people in the theater were all offended! It was dirty, and rude! I am appalled by the dismissal of the manager! I was SO angry. And Seriously- I WAY prefer the Larry Miller theaters 10 minutes further away! They are nicer, cleaner, have reserved seating, and nachos with real cheese! Dave always tried to convince me that Jordan Landing is just as good-
BUT NO IT IS NOT!
I am VERY annoyed, and have no plans of seeing a movie at Jordan Landing again- I will be hitting Jordan Commons ONLY- (yah because even though the Gateway is SO much closer- its totally SUCKS to pay for parking!) Thanks for listening to my rant- please enjoy the rest of your day! And Star Trek was AWESOME!!!!

Jack's Puppet House

If you come up with a project, that gets David excited- he will move Heaven and Earth to make it for you. Ok- well sorta. If you are his niece or nephew you have a Sure thing! If you are a friend, I think your odds are good, and if you are his wife, I would not hold your breath! (Usually because all of my ideas are super expensive!) He has made costumes and robots and gaming boards for those nieces and nephews, and while I think they have appreciated them, I do not think they realize how much fun they are for David to make!
Jack turned 3 on Friday. He has started this puppet stage, and his mom had made him a puppet stage out of a cardboard box. When Dave asked him if he would like a new one, I am sure his three year old mind had NO IDEA what it would entail, but he said yes!
Dave drew it up, bought the goods and went to work! First night he was up until 1 in the morning. The next night 3! Then on Saturday it became this family affair- Nicole made the Marquee, I made the curtains, Kira helped paint, Jordan helped wire the lights. Yes- it has six LED lights to illuminate the stage. We spent another 4 hours all together, having a blast! Dave's work space was too small for all of us, and we moved into the living room and kitchen, so by the time the theater was finished- our house was destroyed! (oh- it was BAD!) Its so clever- it has movable curtains, stage lights in red and white, a stage, and changeable marquee, and best of all??? It folds in to a one inch flat storable unit! Its quite brilliant. and the curtains- are ADORABLE! I picked them and made them myself! One thing I should note: While I was off picking the fabric, Nicole was making the Marquee- neither of us had discussed our plans. Imagine my surprised when I walked in the house and saw that the matched and complimented each other perfectly! Great minds I tell you!
See the lights!Jack loved it! when he saw it he asked, "Is that my new house?" so cute.
All I can say now, is if you think of something that Daddy, Uncle Dave, or Teacher can make for you, odds are in your favor that he would. If you are asking Honey, to make it, yah. probably not.

Done. Just done.

Do you ever do anything for someone that you REALLY do not want to? I mean, it doesn't hurt you, and making someone else happy is a good thing right? You figure that if the other person is happy- you are happy, and life goes on. But for how long? I will TELL you how long. I have been doing this favor for Dave for what... a year now? At first I was ok. It made things so much easier- throw it up, and off for the day, but it just became worse and worse and worse and worse and horrid.
Horrid I say!
I am DONE. Honey, I am sorry that you liked it, really I am, but I hated it, and it was time to go. Good bye ugly hair- Goodbye!
