Trying to set up a donation button for a fundraiser for Timm and Chellee. I wonder if this will work.
I have never done anything like this before, so I will just speak from
the heart and honestly. Bear with me, as I try to convey my thoughts
without being ridiculous.
Since Timm was diagnosed with this terrible disease, my role has been
the same, one that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I get
to be the strong one for Michelle. I get to listen to her, cry, laugh,
yell, and forget who she is. After all of that, I get to work really
hard helping her find moments of normal. I get to be there for some of
my five favorite children who do not live here when Mommy and Daddy
can't, and I get to worry about the little things and try to keep
Michelle on task. This is no easy potatoes! My worry and my sad are not
an option. Ask Michelle! She says I don't get to do that! ;)
I would never trade any of my job. I love it. The Gehrett's are dear to
me, and any part of me is theirs. Always. So to move to my point- I try
hard to make normal happen. They need this. While they seem to be doing
well, implosion is right under the surface, and normal is needed. That's
why I tried really hard to get photos for them before Timm had steroid
face. (Which I love his cute face anytime.) and weird radiation head.
(Yeah. I called him weird looking. I can. I am part of the normal
patrol... And admit it... Timm is all sorts of a weirdo! Cancer
schmancer- he is still a nut!!!!) Those pictures are important! Even if
they could barely function enough at the time to know it!
Another important thing that my husband and I committed to in September,
this family needs a family vacation. They have never had one. We sat
down and told them that we were taking them on one this spring. To make
some life long memories together. They deserve them. After discussion,
the only real option financially, Timm's energy level, and overall
family consensus, was a cruise in the beautiful ocean!
We were all thrilled and it was happening! Timm and Michelle can't wait
to sit on the deck helping the boys look for dolphins, and for the girls
to get to doll them selves up.
My point: while this is sure trying to happen, our very limited extra
funds have now be detoured to the hospital that saved my son's life last
month. It was unexpected, And serious, and we are left scrambling a bit
to make this important event happen. A bit of normal for this family,
who is facing a life NONE of them wanted or expected.
Please, with every bit of sincerity in my heart, see that this may be
important too, for you to send 5 or 20 dollars to our cause. It's not
medical bills, or gas to important appointments. It is a donation for a
moment of joy. A moment of normal. A memory moment for 5 children, who
want nothing more that to have their daddy kiss their first born babies.
A moment we can pray for. A moment that may only live in our hearts.
