good and bad

What a great weekend...but a HARD one as well.

We had a great time Friday night...doing a whole lot of nothing. I love doing nothing. It is sometimes just what one needs. Saturday we had a great dinner with some friends, some sisters, and some cousins. It again was an enjoyable time, and of course anytime I get cheesy goodness, I am up for it. The Sunday night we celebrated Roger's birthday with Ruth, and some brothers.

Lots of fun, and even more so, with pregnancy being the new diet plan, down another pound this morning. How it is happening is beyond me. I have just eaten what my stomach likes, which is everything except for sugar, and not too much of it, because it does not like that...But I thought at some point gaining would be the name of the game...must mean my baby REALLY likes me...

Hard... Wow, it takes all I have to cough. It is the strangest cough I have ever had! Its strong and powerful, and most of the time I have to sit and hold it back...but if it comes...its a seizing fit for 30 minutes! It hurts immensely, makes me so dizzy I am afraid of passing out, all those ligaments that are growing and stretching to support this growing uterus just cramp and ache, and it does not stop!!! I am very reserved in my speaking and movements not to start an episode. I tried really hard not to get involved last night as to laugh or move too much...but then during clean up- flair of seizing coughing! Its hooooooorible.

The problem: its not like any couch I have ever had...not coughing anything, no signs of illness any other way...just this cough. I am not moving today...unless I have to!

a tidbit

I can just randomly start singing a song with a word. This drives Nicole crazy. It makes me want to sing all the more, and when Dave hears her complaining about me singing...as I LOVE to sing, he will join me...and he does NOT love to sing. But he does love to harass Nicole and get her all irritated with us...We usually sing and laugh until Nicole calls us idiots and stomps off. Oh, How I love to sing, and how I love my husband even more.

I also love a teenager without a sense of humor, unless her mood allows it.

A little bit nuts...

I get it. I am pregnant, and therefore I can get more annoyed about things then maybe I ought to. However, I really think any sane person would be annoyed. Not just the psychotic pregnant ones.

Our school is a drop off, pick up only school. Its about three miles from the house, but if you know my area at all, you know that if you walk a mile north, you are in rural farmland. Amidst it all, is our school. No one walks there, and 400 families drop kids off there every morning. We have been doing this for over a year. Last year some mornings there was cute gal standing out there to help kids a crossed the 2 lane drop off zone, but some morning there was not. What a miracle! No one was killed, hit, maimed, or scuffed during this morning drop off! How could a bunch of parents have pulled that off with out taking out someones kid??? (Ok...as you can see, I am being sarcastic.)

So this year, because we parents love to play bumper cars, and take points for offing one another's kids, the school has seen fit to pay 2 to three people every morning to direct traffic. (Oh- but not enough to have any Special Education Aides...but I digress...) These traffic people drive me up the wall! They stand out there flapping their limbs telling us when to drive- when clearly we all have eyes. Flapping and flailing all over the place when 1. there is NO WAY in the world I am not going to check my blind spot, and proceed very slowly, not to take out a child. Because um... I don't wanna run over anyone. and 2. These flailers are chatting and joking with the IDIOTIC mom who DAILY pulls to the curb, gets out, opens her trunk, puts each backpack on each of her 4 kids backs, hugs, and kisses them, while 400 hundred other cars are in line, waiting, who told their kids to have a great day, as they jump out of the car, as to keep the line moving quickly! Seriously??? Impatiently flap your arms to NORMAL moms who are totally aware of whether or not it is safe to go, while yakking with the moron lady holding us all up!! No- they could not possibly make a mistake.

I have been so annoyed as of late- I don't even look at these flappers- I just watch the road, and take care of business...they can be as annoyed as they want, if I go slowly into the morning sun, not to hurt another living soul. And that mom!!! SERIOUSLY lady! Your kids can get out of the car, holding the back pack on their laps...not held in the trunk, and pile out without a kiss, and a collar adjustment! Its not like they are kindergartners on the first day of school! Its been 5 weeks.... Do I REALLY have to see this every single day???

Heh. now that that is off of my chest, I might be able to handle a few more weeks of backpack lady, but maybe not. Maybe its ok to take ONE person out in the morning tomorrow... She is a rather small lady, and everyone in line would thank me. I will think about it.

Oh- on a totally unrelated subject- I love to shop, I do. (Ew. Not GROCERY shop.) But since I am always lacking funds, I don't do it often. I don't usually buy anything we do not need, and I NEVER buy anything fun just for me. But WOAH! I bought my self this bar of homemade soap a few weeks ago. Its Oatmeal, Milk, Honey, Peppermint. It smells and feels divine! I just love it more than words can say! It is made by "the Soap Lady". I LOVE it! I want more! Lots more! I want to try other kinds, and all I can think of is more and more soap! IT feel great on my skin, and washes off sooo nice! Why, oh why can I not have lots lots more??? I am just saying.

Ketchup (I have mentioned that I hate Ketchup right?)

I know. Its been a while...and its not like I have not thought about writing, or have not had anything to write about, because I have! I have taken lots of pictures, and mental notes, but being pregnant must feel like a person with ADD. I can't keep focus on one thing for more than a moment, and I am forgetting everything. I am sure its because my body is dong so many things, my mind can't keep up with it, but its getting ridiculous! Really. I can't keep things straight at all, and I feel like I am a huge balloon head...flitting this way and that. (Bonnie, picture the Greg Barnes picture...) I am just so flighty.

Besides flighty- While I have so much more energy, and feel like a new woman...after having a year long depression, and the three months of my zombie pills- I do feel FANTASTIC! But I still take these random cat naps through out the day,and I am so very glad that I am not working right now...I would probably forget how to read or do division anyway!

So where to start? I guess with some pictures huh? I have a ton of them!

My Grandpa Don helped move my cousin Amy from West Virginia to Tooele. So of course- since my Grandma Esther and Grandpa Don share a birthday, we had to have a party! It was a blast! Kira LOVES playing with Sam and Adriana. (Brickelle too)Grandpa, Uncle Reid, Uncle Lee and Aunt BethNicole Loves Family parties?Lorelei, Grandma, Mom. and MylesMom and Grandbaby #16

We went camping! My poor family was gyped out of summer! I was such a zombie case. I did take them to Lagoon- way too many times, and we did go to Cherry Hills, but very little else...So 2 weeks ago- we went a camping! It was a blast! We went up Settlement Canyon, and found a nice soft-ish spot. Out company was fantastic, out dinner divine, and out breakfast was fabulous! Teresa, I will put up more pics tomorrow!)
I swear my son is a huge PYRO- but ya know, he tells me all his camping know how he has learned from his AWESOME scout leaders, and I am so proud, and grateful for their help and support of my son! It was cold, but we all slept wonderfully...all warm and snugly, and our dog was the world's happiest creature alive! Best behaved animal ever. Really.

Mom and Rex came down. What a blessing it was. They came to take Jordan to pick out something for his birthday, and of course get the girls something, because that is just how they are. Jordan has been wanting to fish for a good 7-8 months. We finally got him a fishing license about 2 months ago, and he has taken it on his monthly scout trips, but I guess the boys are not to keen on sharing their poles...so he asked Nanny and Poppy for a fishin' pole! Boy did they hook him up! They bought him a nice pole, a tackle bag, several types of hooks, baits, lures, line, and sinkers. Best of all- Poppy's undivided attention for a good long fishing lesson and tips on how to use all of his new gear! (The girls got new socks and underwear! Yay!) He could not wait to use it! So Dave, Jordan, and I went up to the Dam, Dave with his Physics book, and me with my novel of the day. He fished...got tangled, fished, got frustrated, fished, got tangled again, and finally his first catch! Yes. Its hideous. I can't get myself to throw the thing in boiling water...so we are taking it back tonight.. I am terrible...I can cook something that is dead...but not still alive... Sorry Jordan... But good job on the catch!

I heard our baby yesterday, and felt it move for the last 3 days. I am SO happy, and relieved. I have lost 14lbs still, and I feel great, so maybe being pregnant is a great diet plan after all??? We are ALMOST half way done, and I just can't wait. I think that is it for now... Until we have some other excitement in our lives... but with our second child becoming a teenager in less than 2 weeks, I am sure it won't be long!

Weekend adventures.

Now that I am feeling human again, we have been doing more and more. One of our favorite things to do is go to the Farmers Market at Pioneer Park. Its usually packed with people, and even more to see and do. The fruits and veggis are beautiful, and we love all the nifty crafty things too, I may or may not have stolen some of their fabulous ideas from time to time! Before we left, I had to have Dave fix a glitch in my camera (mostly operator error on my part, but after it proved to take another great picture, off we went! One of the things that caught our eyes were these wonderfully large and balance hula-hoops. Nicole really wanted one, she could just go and go and go! But unemployed people do not buy things like hula-hoops, we just play with other people's! We found some really great buys, on fresh fruits, but I started to get WAY over heated! I walk all the time, I can handle meandering through a city block, (!) but I am not sure if it was the heat (95 degrees) or the pregnancy, but I started to get light headed, and Dave said I was Bozo the Clown red. I am sure that is not good! So we returned to the lovely air conditioned van.

Nicole was really happy because I had scrimped the last two weeks, so we were able to buy her a couple of tops for school downtown too. I think she was about the happiest kid in town...for a minute anyway.

Sunday Morning after my shower the power went out. It stayed out, and out and out. Much to my pleasure, the kids were all perfectly ready for church an hour early! We were getting ready to see how church would be in the dark when I talked to Lorelei. She needed our help, and I thought it would be ok to give her a day of service. So we changed, and went to help her out. With a new baby, she has been having a hard time keeping up with the house and the other cuteness, so we cleaned and made sure she ate yesterday. I think she appreciated it, and I appreciated seeing the sweet little boy! He has to lay on his billi lights, but he was cute and awake, so we had to take his picture! Sam and Kira LOVE playing together. We we came in the door she insists on jumping into her arms and being carried around...which is fine my Kira! they played all day long like they are bestest friends. I think Kira will love being a big sister. Lastly as we drove into Tooele Valley, Kira grabbed the camera because the sunset was so pretty. I thought her picture did not turn out too bad for going down the road at 60 mph.
