I was laying in bed this morning, trying to pretend I did not have to get up and get going. I heard Dave's alarm go off, so I figured I was good to go to wake him up! We talked about what was happening today and then up I got. This has been a morning ritual for many years. When I had a chance to sleep in, we still at least mention anything of importance for the day. I guess most people do this, but I find it comforting to talk about the day, before it actually happens with him. Makes the day go smoother.
I was contemplating this very topic when I remembered, (not for the first time) that our anniversary is tomorrow. It is amazing to me that we have been married 16 years. It seems like I have known him forever... (well I have known him for more than half my life since we met right after I turned 17) but that it can't already have been 16 years! That is just crazy. So before he left I gave him our standard annivesary joke.
17 years ago we had made plans to to to the Festival of the American West. I ended up being in West Virginia during the festival, and so we did not go. He did tell me that he would take me the following year.
16 years ago we did NOT end up going. The festival ended up being the day before, and the day of our wedding. We were too busy, and totally forgot about it.
15 years ago we remembered! We were going! Forgot.
And so on.
and so on,
and so on.
The going joke is that we ARE going THIS YEAR! WE ARE! 17 years and counting, this has not happened.
Dave informed me this week that WE ARE GOING! WE ARE! My anniversary is tomorrow. The festival starts tomorrow. We will see....right? Wouldn't that be a kick in the head if we actually go? What will our anniversary joke be? What if we HATE it and decide it was the most lame thing we have ever done? Wouldn't THAT be funny.
Stay tunes I guess... my money goes on not....

Caught up!
I feel so much better finally finishing up a few posts! Whew! If you don't want to scroll back- thats ok with me- I just HAD to get it done!
This week was my birthday! I had such fun with my friends and two of my sisters! Dave made me an awesome carrot cake, as he does every year. I like how when he grates my carrots his fingers go a little orange. Reminds me that he loves me. He invited some friends and Mark and Lorelei. We had fun fun.
On my birthday we went to Ogden. After dinner we went to see Iron Man 2. we all loved it, so fun to take 12 people to the movie for $20!
Tuesday we had a girls night in honor of my birthday. Yay for homemade cheese cake1
So it kind of turned into birthday week, but I do not mind at all! Makes for a fun week and helps keep life moving in a positive direction!

Almost ready for opening up
I have written a few posts, and when I am ready, and in some cases, when they are ready, I will publish them. lol
Having camera problems again. That does not help!
Its been a great albeit rough summer! We have been super busy and tired, and hopeful for the future, even though things may seem bleak to some, for us, things are working out alright. Having Dave home all the time is fun. He takes care of us as usual, and is as busy as ever, but he gets to eat 3 meals a day with us. That is fun!
I am not really looking forward to going back to school, but I suppose by the time school starts, I may be ready. I think October sounds fabulous.
My heart is feeling pretty tender these days, and I pray for strength and faith every day. I have had a hard time opening up about how I feel the last year, because it seems like a tender sore spot is to fragile to expose, but I may be ready soon. Bear with me, and send love to my anxious heart. I need it. Will write soon, no more of this silent treatment from me.
