Spring break thoughts
Silly snow. Trying to make up for the pathetic winter we have had. Does it not realize that it had all of January, February, and March to make an appearance? No. Our snow decides to fall ONCE in December, Once in March to melt off in 4 hours and now today- to help ring in April. Someone ought to remind snow that we are tired of being cold and need some sunshine!
Kira is like- the cutest thing. Have I ever said how I adore her? My Nicole always grew up too fast. Walked at 10 months. Stopped napping at 12 months. Could recite long montages at 2. RAN to school at 5. Asked too grown up of questions at 9. Did her own hair at 6. Stopped snuggling with her mommy at 7. Jordan did a little better- and may curl up on the couch with me if he is SURE no one is looking.
But Kira- she really is a snuggle bug. She loves being the baby, and askes for help with things I have seen her do everyday on her own, she just wants to remind me that she needs me. Thank goodness for her.
With being married to Mr. Independent- I seriously doubt he needs me at all. Well- if Carl's Jr. burned to the ground- he would starve without me. Nicole- who is 14 going on 20. Jordan who is trying to prove he is a young man. Kira reminds me that I am still a mother. The rest just tolerate me.
I am totally not complaining. Its just so strange to find yourself in this place- after giving every part of you to your family, wondering if you will ever sleep again, wondering if you could sneak a shower in...its been 2 days. Cereal mashed into the carpet- not 30 minutes after you vacuumed. Vacuumong everyday! Crying because you have not brushed your hair all day and your visiting teachers just stopped by. It all seemed like such a hardship at the time, but the time goes by so quickly and you find yourself missing it. Wishing for it to come back. Being grateful for it.
I have amazing children. They are just too big for my own good.

Sweating the little stuff ok..just annoyed by it.
Oh it just figures. I have this dumb head cold and its spring break! I guess its better than working all stuffy like. I do have time off to recover. I guess if that is the bright side. I don't have a car to go anywhere anyway. No car. I am about done with that too. But I am almost done paying my medical deductible for the year- so then I can start looking seriously. (that is another irritation, Paying the deductible- where now I am not pregnant any more and probably won't go the doctor again at all this year. I could be buying a car! Stoopid car- living in Las Vegas.) My house is slowly getting cleaner- I had planned to have it all sparkly yesterday, but this head cold makes me so stuffy- I don't have the drive- I still have stuff to do today! (Oh on the bright side tho- I have enjoyed using my steam shot and cleaning the baseboards and toilet rings to perfection without the old toothbrush! Woo hoo Spring cleaning toy!)
I really just wanna get over this cold and steam shot the life out of my house! what a fun way to clean! Albeit a bit noisy!
All these little things that sit here and nag at me. Seem like they could just over power me, and send me screaming from the house. I am at these times reminded of my fantastic blessings. I am so very grateful for my amazing hubby and beautiful children. My talents. Oh oh oh! I finished my first sewing project- that I REALLY did by my self! I actually kind of like it- and am starting on something new next week. Who knew I could sew??? So yay having a talent!
(These are things I started for the baby we lost in January. This time I decided to finish them anyway and keep them...until I have a need to give them away.)
I can't get bent out of shape over these little things. I will just spiral if I do. Our family is still pretty sad about losing our babies. We are kinda lost as to what to do about it. Nicole keeps hearing a little boy in the house, and I dream about his little face all the time. I just can't keep thinking about it tho! Its too darn hard! UGH!I really just wanna get over this cold and steam shot the life out of my house! what a fun way to clean! Albeit a bit noisy!

I am a Mom

Or if you ask my kids- a Mom-ster.
Yep you heard it here folks. My kids think I am the Mom-ster. I am the one who Never does ANYTHING for them, Never Lets them do what they want, and ALWAYS gives them chores. I also am the Meanest Mom (ster) in the whole world.
Guess what? I am ok with that. I really am.
The funniest thing about it is that when I do not have a job, my kids think I am nicer. Wow! Could that be because while they are off getting educated I am at home cooking and cleaing and running errands so that they do not have to hardly help at all??? Or is it because I have a little alone time to read each day, so Mom can seem like the paragon of cheeriness? OR- could it be that I do not have to get them up so early so we can ALL be out of the house by 7:50? Not to mention the Hurry and eat a piece of toast!! They get when I am having to leave with them as opposed to the nice homemade breakfast to when I am not? Nope that could not be it.
On the other hand... When I have a job the kids get to go to the movies sometimes, order pizza, and get new things from time to time. But I never get them anything remember?
Little trolls. How lucky are they that their Mom (sters)'s job only consists of when they leave the house for school and is home when they get off...I have the SAME days off from work as they have from school...That was not planned or anything was it???
Boy- what a bunch of goofballs. Seriously.
Well- gonna try to play catch up and get the last few weeks of things posted tomorrow- i have all of our vacation pictures to put up too- I have been so busy I have had NO time!!! but Spring break starts tomorrow- and I could not be happier with some catch up time! I sure hope my steamer comes soon- so i can steam the life out of my bathrooms as the Mom-ster makes everyone spring clean!

Road Trip
So much to write. Loads of pictures, but i think the writing is where I will start.
After losing our baby- I decided I needed something to look forward to- something to keep my mind excited about until- the painful part was almost over. So I booked us a little vaction to the only place we could afford at that time. We decided to go stay at Circus Circus, go to Hoover Dam, a movie, some pools, some sun, and some amusement park fun.
I knew that if we stuck to those things- we would have a nice time. Things never go as planned.
There were good things. There were unexpected disappointments. Having been to Vegas before we knew how to aviod most of the smut and raunchy-ness. We did stay at a gambling hall- but it was super cheap! (and yah- not a coin was played. Sooooo not our thing.) All in all I felt pretty good about that aspect of the trip.
Nicole was a dramatic whiny teenager- if we weren't shopping, we were not having fun. All I can say is that she better marry very well!
I would have to say- to this point our trip was pretty ok... until the last night. When David comes home and tells me that our van is dead at the mall- (where the girls had insisted they go to Ambercrombie and Finch one last time.) We spent a restless night praying and worrying. Its funny that- I prayed over and over that we would get home safely...and a few- PREFERABLY with our car. The next morning Dave could STILL not fix it- and after pricing the tow trucks, realized that if we were going to be able to afford to fix it, we could not spend $300 on a tow. So I thought of calling the only one I knew in the area, not anyone i had ever met, or spoken to even, I knew that someone from our church would be able to help us. So I open the phone book to the over 3 pages of -Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and just about burst into tears! Who to call??? Seriously- I had no idea- so I pick a number, which I felt was totally random, and presented my blight, asking for help finding someone who could help us tow our car and let us work on our car.
Well- it turned out- that that never happened- by the time I had made the call- it was determined what the problem was, and it would cost WAY TOO MUCH to fix it- more than what the van was even worth. Besides the guy on the other end of the phone had been disconnected by bad service, and I could not get the help I needed.
So we worried.
We were able to get a rental- which worked out nicely, and all of our things fit in the little car. Realizing that were were going to have to abandon this van, we worried about the fines we would get, but the options were just not there. Until the fellow church member calls back- the first moment he could. He happens to be the Senior Missionary who is in charge of the missionary fleet of cars in the Las Vegas North Mission. He happens to have a garage of his owns, and every tool in the world. He happens to have rebuilt several of our kind of vans. We know at this point we can't afford to keep it- not in Las Vegas anyway, the price of parts and the 4 days of hotel we would have to pay, while Dave works on the car. So Dave offers it to him. He wanted it, he was on his way, and he had a investigating family who really needed a car. He had the time, and the money to fix it. He was on his way.
So yes- the first missionary under his care was came to the parking garage right off the Las Vegas Strip- and Ambercrombie and Finch, Which the sweet little Elder sat with his eyes in his lap- the whole drive there. They came, took our key, and towed the van. Free. then we were on our way home. Relief and joy over small miracles.

- The amusement park was closed for weekly mantainance.
- The pools hours were so ridiculous- it seemed to be impossible to enjoy our selves there.
- The kids thought the dam was lame. ( Seriously?? We even took them down 500 feet under the mountain and everything!
- The chocolate factory was just an over priced sales room when we got there.
- We never had time for a movie.
