I have been having a hard time. I can keep my smile-y face on and keep barreling through, because its kind of been working. I will keep doing it, because I am doing much much better. I sometimes feel this way, and usually because I get run over by bafflement. Things that seem like a no brainer appear, and things are handled in a way- I would never fathom. When you know right from wrong, its easy to see the right way. When others you feel should know right from wrong do things a way you would never consider- it kind of rocks your little world.
I have a hard hard time with people who are selfish. People who can only see the world as how it can benefit them. I try truly hard not to be one of those people, and when people that are close to you do it, its hard to watch and hard to not have it bother you. My struggle is trying to let it not bother me. I was failing. But I am going to just pull up my boots by the boot straps and move on. I expect alot out of the people I love, I guess that is why its so hard when they disappoint.
Thankfully Dave is the perfect man. I would sure be gut kicked if he was the one disappointing me! He knows me too well though. I love too hard. He knows what I expect and he expects that in me as well. That's ok, we are kind of like 2 peas in a pod. I guess 18 years of marriage does that to people.
I am so thrilled that school is almost out. I sure love having my awesome kids around. I am super open, and try to be that with them. They are really the light of our worlds. We love them so much. Thank goodness for them!

Sad happy heart.

Being a mommy is great, but when the little things that you love and cherish turn into huge milestones that take away the little things, it makes your heart happy/sad. That is how I feel about Juliet walking. My older girls walked at 10 months, and Jordan on his birthday, but Juliet has been my itty bitty baby and is staying off her feet. With her being 13 months old tomorrow, she has decided this week, that walking is a bit interesting. She walked between us- over and over and would not let us stop. She can do 6-10 steps with out falling...she does look like a miniature Frankenstein when she does it, but she giggles and does it all the same. Twice she fell- and stood her little self right back up- with out anything to hold on too. While Dave and I cheer her on, I felt sad inside. not ready to give up her babyhood just yet.
Can't she just stay little?

A beautiful angel has gone home.
Its been a hard week. A good one, and sick one, and a sad one.

The life of a very wonderful, amazing woman has ended. My Grandma Wood Died Monday after a mere 94 years on this Earth. 94 years of love, compassion, and service. She was my only Grandma really. My Mom's Mom has never been very kind, attentive, or treating me and my siblings more than just acquaintances, my Mom's step mom lived 2000 miles away, and could only be a sweetheart every few years for a week or two, but my Grandma Wood was always there. A bit silly, funny, crazy, and sometimes harsh, I knew that that woman loved us!
I was the oldest Grandchild, and her first girl ever, she told me many times, "I do not know a lot about girls." She didn't! She gave us hair cuts once. It was bad. I looked like a boy! She thought we were broken when my sisters wanted to color or draw instead of playing out side, but "getting used to you girls." (with a grin) She came to where ever we lived when she could, and when we would visit Utah, we always stayed with her. I remember her always trying to feel us healthy food- fully knowing our grandpa was giving us hidden junk food. she would just roll our eyes and remind us that when we are the grandma, we would have to give healthy snacks and try to hide the grandpa's treats.
When my parents got divorced, she came to take care of us. She wanted to make sure my dad was alright without a wife, and she cooked and clean. But mostly, we could just tell she wanted to love on us and make sure we were adjusting well. Each year I was always able to have a one on one date with her. It was the greatest date of the year. Her and I would talk about healthy herbs to take, ways to make my hair stronger, and how I could always pick the right man. I wonder sometimes if our relationship was different than other kids in the family. I don't remember ever hearing about how grandma taught to about looking in consumer reports on cleaning products before buying them so I would know the best one to buy from my cousins. (COMET is the BEST! Thank Grandma!!)
She helped me chose the flowers for my wedding- "Always pick flowers by smell, you remember the smell longer than the color." (She is right by the way.) She help my hand as I went through the temple the first time and when I cried because she was the only one in my family who could come (my other grandma did come, but had told me that she couldn't and it was a surprise to see her there at the last minute! and my Aunt Karen and Uncle Kimo ran over from work for our sealing!) my Grandma said "Just because they aren't here, does not mean they do not love you! I am bringing all their love with me!" It dried up those tears in a quick hurry to have her tell me her wise words. She then fixed my clothes, and hair and gave me the only NON fish kiss she ever gave me on my cheek and told me that I was the most beautiful girl a grandma could hope for. She told me that she was proud of me. A memory that I will keep forever.
She always wanted me to write her letters. I am BAD at that. Sometimes I would write them and never send them, and she would tell me that she wanted them anyway. I would send 4-5 at a time- spanning over a year, that I never mailed. I would get a reply- to EACH ONE. And she said- keep writing- send them all together again if I wished. I have one more for her. I will take it to her funeral tomorrow. I know it would make her happy. I may not have been the best granddaughter. But she was the greatest grandmother. I knew that on her birthday, it would be the last time I saw her. I told her I loved her, I don't think it registered then, but I know she knows now.

My last Picture of my sweet grandmother.

Perfection
After we did our family and group shots, and the shots Dave chose, we let each child choose their own backgrounds. There was this concrete wall- I was in love with it. I am sure Juliet would have picked it! (Shh! she would have!) I changed her clothes and she sat down, and just started hamming it up. She Loves the camera! I love her wittle bald head. Her sweet sometimes brown and sometimes green eyes. Her sweet little cartoon teeth. She is perfect.

Kira saw the Baroque background and immediately wanted that. She sat on the chair, folded up her cute (LONG) legs and my heart melted. She is so sweet. She is a spit fire, but she would do anything for anyone. She gets that from her Daddy. I adore her. and her little satin heels? Perfect.

Jordan chose the rusty corrugated metal. I loved that. He looks amazing. I see his Dad in him so much! Just smaller, and a nose closer to mine. His blue eyes pop so well! I love how he threw on that tie at the last minute. He looked perfect!

Nicole LOVES blue. She really wanted more blue door pictures. She is such a beautiful child. Her eyes are the most wonderful caramel-y brown. They are actually kinda dreamy. I love her so much, mother given mean streak and all. I think she turned out perfect!

and now..we are done...Family should pick their favorite ones so I can get you a copy.

Nicole really liked the yellow door, so she posed for a few shots. Dave thought she looked so great that he decided he wanted all the kids to have some shots there for the living room. You know us! We Love color! I hardly decorate... but paint adds personality! So today, look at the sunny yellow door pics! Tomorrow... there will be something new!
